DEPLOYMENT
"Throughout our history, the men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States have placed the security of our Nation before their own safety...

"At this important time in the history of freedom, a new generation of Americans is defending our flag and our liberty. These men and women...demonstrate that the United States Armed Forces remain the greatest force for freedom in human history."

DoD Mental Health Self-Assessment (MHSA) Program Offered to Military Families and Service Members

The Mental Health Self-Assessment (MHSA) Program is a voluntary, anonymous, self-directed mental health and alcohol screening and referral program offered to military Families and service members affected by deployments and mobilizations.

The screening is designed so that one can review his or her situation, with regard to some of the more common mental health issues. Rather than providing a diagnosis, it is designed to identify any presence of symptoms consistent with a condition or concern that would benefit from further evaluation or treatment. In addition, the screening provides guidance as to where one might seek assistance.

The MHSA is offered online, in both English and Spanish, 24/7 and through special events held at installations and reserve units. There is also an assessment for parents worried about depression in a teenage child. For a telephone version, call 877-877-3647.
