You Are The Best Protected Species

Continue to visit this portion of HOOAH 4 HEALTH as we develop topics in preventive medicine of particular interest to the soldier facing deployment. Included will be information on immunizations that you should receive prior to deployment as well as links to other areas of this site that deal with the situations soldiers may face in the field and the protective measures available to them. For example see the DOD Insect Repellent System.
Deployment Medical Information Sheets (DMIS) can be accessed at: http://chppm-www.apgea.army.mil/dcpm/CDI/DMIS.htm. The purpose of the Deployment Medication Information Sheets is to provide the soldiers and concerned family members with information on vaccines and other preventive medications they will receive in preparation for movement and/or during their deployment. Each DMIS provides basic information in laymen's terms and is divided by subheadings of uses, how to use, side effects, precautions, drug interactions, and notes.

Check the Deployment Immunization Requirements to see which vaccines are required for any of the countries listed.

You can also find more information on immunizations at The Military Immunization Information Source.
